City government, QCPD, Napolcom bare policing system

Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista has partnered with the Quezon City Police District and National Police Commission on a community service-oriented policing system.

The system’s framework is designed to promote coordination and cooperation among citizens, local executives and the integrated law enforcement and public safety agencies assigned in the community through a program and project for the maintenance of peace and order and public safety, he said.

The agreement shall take effect for two years, Bautista added.

The city government includes the convening of a peace and order council; update and approval of the craft of peace and order and public safety plan; full cooperation of all partner agencies and organizations in meetings, trainings, implementation, and monitoring, invite the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples as members observers and services be included in the plan, the mayor said.

Chief Supt. Joselito Esquivel Jr. of the QCPD shall facilitate the data gathering and planning of barangays, generate partnership with non-government organizations and communities by regular barangay visitations and intensified social awareness on crime prevention, anti-terrorism, community development and social welfare.

The National Police Commission shall monitor and evaluate the development, adoption and implementation strategies of the community, service-oriented policing system, guide the police, and provide the capacity development to partner agencies and organizations.

Meanwhile, the Quezon City government has formally accepted its award for being adjudged as the Best in City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council for Highly Urbanized Council in the National Capital Region.

Moreover, the city government also bagged the best in Government Emergency and Response Management Service category.
