Anton halts Milo’s Phoenix slalom win run

Milo Rivera’s winning streak came to a screeching halt last Sunday when 14-year-old Inigo Anton gave him a tight battle in the 5th leg of the 2018 RACE Motorsports club Phoenix Pulse Technology National Slalom Series at the Robinsons Starmills in Pampanga.

The Tough Gear Racing standout finished in third spot and was even upstaged by his brother/teammate Estefano Rivera. 

Anton of Mark Young Racing Team clocked 42.66 in bagging the Overall and Front wheel best time of the day. 

Estefano came in second with 42.68, while Milo placed third with 42.90. 

Jevoy Moreno of JAF Racing Team was fourth with 43.82 and Douglas Maningding of Speedmode Racing Team ranked fifth with 44.28.

Milo Rivera completed a championship sweep in 2017 and started the year with four straight wins, before finally yielding in the fifth.

Anton also took the Front Wheel best time, followed by Moreno and Richard Gallardo, who are both participating in the coming Indonesian Asian Gymkhana this Aug. 11 and 12.

For the Production Best Time, Estefano Rivera won with 42.68, with Milo securing runner-up honors with 42.90. 

Maningding placed third with 44.28.

Powee Base of PMMS Rennsport Racing Team brought home the Novice Best time with 44.50, followed by Ram Rafanan of Globe Spade Baguio City with 44.74.

Vegil Calayo of JAF Racing Team was third with 45.50.

The 2018 RACE Motorsports Club Phoenix Pulse Technology Technology National Slalom Series with enhanced power and acceleration is also supported by major sponsors Federal Tyres and 3K Batteries, New SR KYB Special Shock Absorbers, Robinsons Novaliches and Robinsons Malls. It is also supported by Starbright Body Kits, Auto Transporter, meedia partners Stoplight TV, C! Magazine, Auto Car Magazine, Power Wheels Magazine and Medical Team AEROMED.

The event was participated in by Tough Gear Racing Team, PMMS Rennsports,  Speedmode Racing Team, Globe Spade, RODLEA Racing Team, JAF Racing Team, Pongga Racing Team, Mark Young Race Cars and Speedjav Racing Team.

The sixth leg will be held on July 29 at the NFA Compound Cabanatuan City, while the second leg of The Slalom Invitational will be on Aug. 5 at Robinsons Calasiao Pangasinan.

The seventh leg is set on Aug. 19 at Robinsons Novaliches.
