More Filipinos watched ABS-CBN’s SONA 2018 Special coverage

More Filipinos chose to watch and follow ABS-CBN News’ special coverage of President Rodrigo Duterte’s third “State of the Nation Address” (SONA) on Monday. 

ABS-CBN’s SONA 2018 special coverage got a national TV rating of 16.8 percent from both urban and rural homes

Based on data from Kantar Media, ABS-CBN’s SONA 2018 special coverage on ABS-CBN got a national TV rating of 16.8 percent from both urban and rural homes, well ahead of the 12 percent rating that GMA 7 drew for its own live coverage.

Multinational audience measurement provider Kantar Media uses a nationwide panel size of 2,610 urban and rural homes that represent 100 percent of the total Philippine TV viewing population.

Even on the internet, thousands of netizens watched ABS-CBN News’ live coverage via Facebook, where it drew 714,000 views, 27,000 reactions, 26,000 comments, and 6,300 shares. 

Viewers also chose to watch ABS-CBN’s news program for the entire day starting with Umagang Kay Ganda, which got 6.3 percent over Unang Hirit’s 4.9 percent, TV Patrol, which got 30.4 percent over 24 Oras’ 19.4 percent, and Bandila, which had a rating of 3.1 percent, ahead of Front Row’s 2.2 percent.
