Fugitive Ozamiz City Councilor Ricardo Parojinog, arrested in May in Taiwan for illegal entry, could be deported to the Philippines by next month, the Philippine National Police said on Monday.

No exact time frame was mentioned.

Director Gregorio Pimentel of the PNP Directorate for Intelligence said police were still coordinating with authorities from the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office regarding the immediate deportation of Parojinog.

“He was given three months to serve but he is given due notice that he can be granted earlier deportation upon his request,” Pimentel told a news briefing in Camp Crame.

Parojinog was arrested in May in Taiwan for illegal entry after months of hiding.

He was not in his house in Ozamiz when authorities conducted a raid in July last year that resulted in the deaths of his brother, Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog Sr. and 15 others.

Police, however, seized shabu and drug paraphernalia, a shotgun, three rocket propelled-grenade launchers, two hand grenades, and M79 ammunition from the councilor’s house.

President Rodrigo Duterte earlier offered a P5-million bounty for the councilor’s capture.
