The Chinese General Hospital and Medical Center, owned and operated by the Philippine Chinese Charitable Association Inc., held a groundbreaking ceremony of their 17-story building at the CGHMC Compound last June 27.
A press statement said this had been possible under the leadership of Dr. James Dy, president of CGHMC, and the efforts of Dr. Benito Goyokpin, chairman of the board, PCCAI, Antonio Tan, vice chairman, Jose Castañeda Jr., vice president, Jameson Dy, vice chairman (PCCAI) and senior vice president for Overall Operation and Administration (CGHMC), Kelly Sia, executive vice president, as part of their modernization program.
The building, called “The Dr. James G. Dy Garden Suites”—Chinese General Hospital and Medical Center, is designed as a 300- bed hospital with the latest equipment and facilities in modern healthcare to complement the existing Chinese General Hospital Complex.
It will have the full range of diagnostics and treatment centers for patients in need of medical care highlighted by its Cardiovascular center, Cancer center and Hemo-dialysis facilities, the hospital said in a statement.
The design of the 17-story hospital building aims to address the patients’ well-being by providing unique spaces such as the Garden Suites concept and the Central Solarium.
This will have lush greeneries and allow patients to enjoy the benefits of fresh air and natural sunlight while being in the comfort and safety of the hospital premises.
The entire facade of the hospital will also feature a faceted external double wall skin that encourages constant airflow leading to heat reduction and energy savings.
An Executive Doctors’ lounge at the center of the facade and a Spherical shaped Presidential Suite further enhances the design and complete the State of the Art and Hotel-like design ambience of the Hospital, it said in its statement.
