Pirates win Got Skills U25 crown

The Lyceum Pirates, led by Cameroonian reinforcement Mike Nzeusseu and CJ Perez, took the 25-under crown of the 2018 Milcu Sports Basketball presented by Got Skills Adidas Summer Showcase last June 28.

Nzeusseu struck with 18 points, six rebounds and three blocks as he led the Pirates past Intramuros rival Letran, 81-69, at the Trinity University Gym in Quezon City.

The 6’6” Nzeusseu eventually earned Finals’ MVP honors for the Pirates.

Perez finished with 14 points, five rebounds, and two assists, while Marcelino twins Jaycee and Jayvee joined for 22 points,, 14 boards, five assists and five steals.

The Pirates took charge in a third-quarter breakaway, coasting to a 61-49 advantage before the fourth quarter got under way.

With the win, Lyceum clinched its third off-season crown, counting its 2018 Philippine Collegiate Champions League and 2018 PBA D-League Aspirants Cup conquests.

Jeff Perlas called the shots for the Pirates in the absence of Topex Robinson.

Coy Galvelo led the Knights with 18 points, while King Caralipio chipped in 16.
