Comedian-singer Mikey Bustos introduced Taipei’s amazing food scene in a playful and catchy parody at the Fun Taipei 2018 media launch held recently at Ascott Hotel in Makati.
In the music video, he presented all the delectable and luscious food (including beef noodle, Mango shaved ice, fried chicken as well as the world’s famous stinky tofu) he feasted on during the shoot for Taipei’s tourism campaign.
During the media launch, he also shared his fun experience exploring all the incredible places and food options in Taiwan’s capital city including the time when it rained heavily while sampling some skewered food at the city’s famous night market.
“The taste is so unforgettable and I wish I can go back to Taipei to try more things that I didn’t get to eat last time,” shares Mikey.
The song titled “My New Crushie” is based on last year’s theme song of the 2017 Universiade in Taipei City.
The music video is set to take the spectators in a sneak peek into one of the most renowned exceptional cities for foodies and shopaholics.

Meanwhile, in a separate event held on July 4 at the Diamond Hotel, Taiwan Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) Representative Michael Peiyung Hsu announced that in 2017, Taiwan recorded its largest number of tourist arrivals with over 10 million visitors.
“The tourism landscape in my country has been very much improved over the years. Taiwan is also considered as one of the safest countries in the world, for both residents and tourists. Famous attractions such as Taipei 101 and the National Palace Museum, the wide variety of Taiwanese cuisines, efficient transportation systems, diversified and vibrant culture, and the warm Taiwanese hospitality, make Taiwan an attractive tourist destination,” he said in his speech.
In 2017, Filipinos visiting Taiwan reached 290,784, posting a 68.59 percent increase as compared to the number in 2016. On the other hand, Taiwan is currently the Philippines’ 6th top tourist source market and has recorded over 60,000 Taiwanese visitors to the Philippines during the first 3 months of 2018.
