More air travelers are carrying bullets at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport despite the ban and numerous warnings about the danger of bringing in or carrying such prohibited items.
Security screeners at the Naia Terminal 2 recently apprehended and placed under questioning a Filipino-American female passenger bound for Laoag City after she was caught carrying a transparent plastic bag containing a large quantity of ammunition shells.
Officials of the Manila International Airport Authority-Media Affairs Division, in its report, did not identify the passenger but stated: “she is a Filipina with US citizenship who arrived on board PR101 from Honolulu and has a connecting flight to Laoag via Philippine Airline PR 2198.”
Inspectors led by Dominic Almazan conducted a manual search after X-ray scanning monitored an image resembling a large quantity of ammunition in the baggage owned by the said passenger.
