Rivera keeps slalom mark intact at 4-0; Douglas 2nd

Tough Gear Racing’s Milo Rivera emerged triumphant from an intense three-way fight in the fourth leg of the 2018 RACE Motorsports Club Phoenix Pulse Technology National Slalom Series at Robinsons Novaliches.

Rivera clinched the overall best time of the day with his 49.72 seconds, just enough to nip the challenge of his closest rival, SpeedMode Racing Team’s Douglas Maningding, who came in second in 49.84.

With the win, Rivera kept his spotless record intact after four stages.

His teammate/brother Estefano also broke the 50-second barrier with a 49.98 clocking, good for third.

Inigo Anton of Mark Young Race cars came in fourth with a time of 50.38, with Powee Base of PMMS Rennsport Racing Team finishing fifth with 51.10 and Richard Gallardo of JAF Racing Team coming in sixth with 51.22.

Milo’s time was also good for the Production title, with Maningding and Estefano rounding out the Top 3. Completing the Top 6 in the Production category were Gallardo (51.22), Carlos Anton (51.28) and Dr. Peewee Mendiola (51.64).

Meanwhile, Inigo Anton captured the Front Wheel best time, followed by Base, Gallardo, Carlos Anton and Ram Rafanan of Globe Spade Baguio City (51.84).

Base’s clocking was good for the novice best time, with Rafanan, Vegil Calayo of JAF Racing Team (52.64), Rainier Tinio of Cabanatuan Auto Club (53.12) and Rod Chang of JAF Racing (54.70) rounding out the Top 5.

The 2018 RACE Motorsports Club Phoenix Plus Technology National Slalom Series is also supported by major sponsors Federal Tyres, 3K Batteries, New SR KYB Special Shock Absorbers, Robinsons Novaliches and Robinsons Malls, with support from Starbright Body Kits, Auto Transporter, media partners Stoplight TV, C! Magazine, Auto Car Magazine, Power Wheels Magazine and Medical Team Aeromed.

The event was participated in by Team Big Chill, Tough Gear Racing Team, PMMS Rennsports, Speedmode Racing Team, G Spot Racing Team, Globe Spade, Autoforce Racing Team, Rodlea Racing Team, JIMBIG Racing Team, Team Orthodox, Cabanatuan Auto Club, JAF Racing Team, Pongga Racing Team and Mark Young Race Cars.

The fifth leg will be held on July 8 at Robinsons Starmills, while the sixth stop is on July 29 at the NFA Compound, Cabanatuan City.
