Already out of contention in the 2018 Philippine Basketball Association Commissioner’s Cup, NLEX now looks forward to the coming Governors’ Cup early.

In an attempt to bounce back and prepare for next conference, the Road Warriors are already bound to field in an import that it will use for the Governors’ Cup.

For its last game for the Commissioner’s Cup on July 4 against Magnolia, NLEX will parade Olu Ashaolu as its import as a start for its preparation for its next campaign.

In line with this, Arnett Moultry will no longer be around for the Road Warriors to finish the conference.

Ashaolu will be NLEX’s third import for the conference.

The Nigerian-Canadian reinforcement played briefly for the Philadelphia 76ers in the NBA before bouncing around in Spain and in France.

NLEX hopes that he can be a big boost since star guards Kevin Alas and Kiefer Ravena are both out for a long stretch.

The Road Warriors only managed two wins in their 10 games so far in the Commissioner’s Cup, prompting their early exit.

NLEX (2 wins, 8 losses) is at eleventh place just ahead of doormat Blackwater Elite (1-9).

Leading the standings are the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters (9-1), the Alaska Aces (7 wins, 3 losses) and TNT KaTropa (7-3).

The other teams include the Meralco Bolts (7-4), the San Miguel Beermen (5-4), the GlobalPort Batang Pier (5-5), Barangay Ginebra (5-5), the Magnolia Hotshots (4-5), the Phoenix Petroleum Fuelmasters (4-6) and Columbian Dyip (4-7).
