For the third time, the Navotas City Government has received the highest audit rating from the Commission on Audit.
CoA has given Navotas “unqualified opinion” ratings in 2016, 2017 and this year.
According to the Independent Auditor’s Report handed to Mayor John Rey Tiangco, the city’s financial reports for 2017, including its financial position, financial performance, and cash flows, were presented fairly in all material respects and in accordance to the Philippine Public Sector Accounting Standards.
“We are truly pleased and honored to receive another unqualified opinion from CoA. It validates our efforts to ensure that the city’s financial transactions are honest and transparent,” Tiangco said.
“CoA’s findings also reflect the city’s endeavors to spend the people’s taxes properly and provide them with the best service they deserve,” he added.
Tiangco commended the department heads and employees of the city government for performing their duties well.
“Getting an unqualified opinion, third years in a row, was the result of everyone’s cooperation, hard work and commitment to serve. I trust that this achievement will inspire us to do more and to continuously provide quality public service to Navoteños,” he said.
