How important is cooking in keeping the marriage flame burning?

I bet you’ve already heard of this question many times over. Yet, you’d still be interested to know the answer straight from the mouth of real couples who find spending some time together in the kitchen a form of bonding apart from the obvious fact that it's a sweet moment to fill each other's tummy.

Case in point, when husband and wife Drew Arellano and Iya Villania welcomed some members of the press to the fourth season press conference of their show Home Foodie, some showbiz reporters were so eager to ask the couple whether or not cooking together has become a sexy time for them.

“That's why baby number 2,” Drew grinned with a slight naughtiness pointing his right index finger to the very pregnant Iya. “Last time we’re doing the show she was pregnant with Primo and now she's pregnant again.”

Celebrity couple Drew Arellano and Iya Villania host the 4th season of 'Home Foddie,' a cooking show that  is all about inspiring home cooks to reinvent their favorites dishes in few easy steps.

But he was quick to shift into serious mode and said sincerely, “Our relationship just keeps on getting better. I know this is just for show sometimes [laughs]. We are very happy to have this kind of relationship that keeps on getting deeper especially that we have Primo now.”

Iya agreed that cooking together makes their relationship stronger. She said although recently top priority is to prepare baby food, they still manage to spend some time in the kitchen given that they both love to cook and eat.

“It strengthens our bond. We both love to eat and cook so we really enjoy our time together even though we don’t get as much time as we wish we could. Masaya na kame even we are just making toast, that's why working together is a big bonus,” Iya shared.

Asked who's the better cook, Iya raised her white flag and commended her better half.

“I learn how to be quick in the kitchen creating quick yet good meal for Primo. But generally, it’s Drew. He's more confident in the kitchen,” Iya admitted.

Drew replied that his confidence lies on being creative and resourceful.

Drew and Iya's natural chemistry makes the show much livelier and more engaging.

“Don’t be afraid to be creative. There are food options that are already conveniently packed, that you can just mixed and match and become the Pablo Picasso of your kitchen,” Drew relayed adding that their natural chemistry as husband and wife is the perfect formula for appearing natural on TV.

San Miguel Purefoods Home Foodie ushers in a new and exciting season featuring the couple as they level up their cooking skills. The show itself features more consumer engagement, new chefs and more delectable dishes that are certified Madalicious, which the couple explained, “madali na, delicious pa.”

In this season, we will see Drew and Iya’s confidence in the kitchen. They are ever playful and perky while helping the chefs prepare the featured dishes. They provide tips and offer Madalicious meal solutions to both TV viewers and to the online community.

Also this season, we will also meet two new chefs who will join Chef Llena Tan-Arcenas in guiding Drew and Iya create Madalicious Meals – they are Chefs Martin Narisma and John Valley.

Home Foodie features a wide array of San Miguel Purefoods products used in different Madalicious Meals. It premieres today on GMA 7 and will air from Monday to Friday after Unang Hirit.
