Hyundai, in partnership with the Korean National Police Agency, the Korea International Cooperation Agency, delivered 130 brand new Elantra and Starex units to serve as patrol vehicles of the Philippine National Police. The turnover ceremony was held on May 29, 2018 at Camp Karingal, Quezon City.
This turnover is an important step in the Republic of Korea’s and the Philippines’ six-year joint project to modernize the PNP’s crime-busting capabilities.
In terms of volume, the vehicle donation is by far the biggest and most significant that Hyundai Motor Company has undertaken in the country.
The 40 Elantra and 81 Starex units arrived in the country already geared by HMC with special safety features, including LED search and warning lights, safety screens, dashboard cameras, mobile radio casings, rear safety films, and multi-function signal bars.
Elantra and Starex stand out for their power, space, agility and sturdiness of body made from the famed Hyundai high tensile strength steel.
Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. pledged Hyundai’s award-winning Service package to maintain these new patrol vehicles in peak fighting form.
HARI has delivered outstanding Service performance in the entire Hyundai Asia-Pacific distributorship network, having bagged top honors for Customer Satisfaction in After- Sales Service in 2018.
In 2017, the JD Power Philippines Customer Service Index (CSI) saw HARI climb up from seventh place in 2016 to second among 11 top brands.
“It is always a challenge to live up to our customer promise, but most especially now that we are the PNP’s new partner in public service,” stated HARI President and CEO Ma. Fe Perez-Agudo. “Our goal is to bolster the capacity of our police authorities, so that they can effectively carry out their mission to maintain peace and order while enjoying a safe and comfortable ride.”
