President Rodrigo Duterte named former Department of Public Works and Highways undersecretary Karen Jimeno as undersecretary for disaster resiliency under the Presidential Management Staff, which is under the Office of the President.
The Disaster Resiliency, PMS is under the office of Special Assistant to the President headed by Christopher “Bong” Go.
Jimeno was part of the defense team of the late Chief Justice Renato Corona. She also had a short stint as co-anchor of a TV news program.
A lawyer, Jimeno also served as spokesperson for the rehabilitation efforts of the Aquino administration due to massive destruction brought by Super Typhoon ‘‘Yolanda’’ in November 2013.
Malacañang also released the appointment papers of Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat, Special Envoy to Kuwait Abdullah Mama-o and Benjamin Palmero as member of the board of directors of the PNOC Renewables Corp.
