Special Assistant to the President Secretary Christopher “Bong” Go continues to make the rounds in Metro Manila despite his already busy schedule as President Rodrigo Duterte’s right-hand man.
Go visited fire victims in Quezon City on Sunday, May 13, then proceeded to Barangay Tambo in Parañaque City to inspect the condition of the hundreds of affected families in another fire that destroyed homes and claimed six lives.
The secretary visited and extended financial assistance to the casualties in the Parañaque fire. He condoled with Marlon Amata, whose wife Anna and children Jake and Angelo perished in the tragedy, as well as with Josesel Canaria, whose wife Mary and children Jomarie and Daniel died as well. He then visited other victims with various illnesses.
He also led the distribution of relief goods to the victims composed of food packs, hygiene kits, and cash assistance.
Go also gave the assurance that the Duterte administration is ready to help return their lives to normalcy. In his regular “Sapatos ni Sap, Tsinelas Ka Swap,” Go gave his shoes to a fire victim. This has become the practice of the secretary every time he visits fire victims across the country.
Joining Go were Presidential Communications and Operations Secretary Martin Andanar and officials from the Department of Social Welfare and Development, Department of Health, and the National Housing Authority.
