Former Manila vice mayor and actor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso was named undersecretary of the Department of Social Welfare and Development by President Rodrigo Duterte, along with three others to different government posts.
The appointment of Moreno, who resigned as chairman and chief executive officer of North Luzon Railways Corp. citing personal reasons, was signed last May 8 but was released only on Wednesday, May 9, the Palace said.
Moreno served as Manila vice mayor from 2007 to 2016 and ran for the Senate but lost.
Reports had circulated that he will run for mayor against incumbent city chief executive Joseph Estrada in 2019 local elections.
The President also appointed Antonio Joselito Lambino II as assistant secretary of the Department of Finance whose appointment is co-terminus with the appointing authority, which is the President.
Lambino was the former Ayala Corp. head of Public Policy and associate director.
Also named were Sherwin Smith Rigor as undersecretary of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources and Gerard Melocoton Camina as member of the board of directors of Bases Conversion and Development Authority.
