‘Misdeeds will never be tolerated’

NATIONAL Capital Region Police Office Director Camilo Cascolan said he would never tolerate any misdeeds of police officers and warned that chiefs of police would also suffer the consequence if they did not take full responsibility over their personnel.

This developed as Cascolan revealed his office was now investigating cases of police personnel involved in various irregularities.

He said the probe was in line with the NCRPO’s intensified Internal Cleansing Program.

The NCRPO chief ordered his men from the Discipline, Law and Order Section, Regional Investigation and Detection Management Division-Pre-Charge Section, and Legal Service to hasten their investigation on erring cops.

“As much as we are eager to clean our ranks, we have to observe speedy but thorough investigation,” said Cascolan.

Cascolan earlier ordered the relief and the filing of criminal and administrative complaint against the three policemen-brothers who confronted a man in his house following a traffic incident in Caloocan City.

The policemen were PO3 Ralph Soriano, assigned at the Northern Police District; and PO1 Rendel Soriano and PO1 Reniel Soriano, both members of the Drug Enforcement Group based in Camp Crame, Quezon City.

Cascolan reminded all police officers that he had zero tolerance on erring, abusive and tardy policeman. He said the NCRPO was working overtime not just to fulfill his commitment but also to lead by example and be the encouragement of every policeman.

Cascolan reiterated his directives to all District Directors, Chiefs of Police and Station Commanders in Metro Manila to perform well their respective task and duties as well as to monitor and ensure that their men were doing well and recognition would follow.

“More than any award, I would like to emphasize that recognition or even a simple appreciation to (sic) the good deeds that you do for the organization and for the public will definitely bring you pride and feeling of satisfaction,” he said.

Cascolan’s spokesperson Supt. Chai Madrid said at present the NCRPO through its Regional Personnel Records and Management Division was drafting awards and recognitions for Regional Director’s approval.

“Each award was strictly verified by the personnel of Morale and Welfare Section. Every award has its equivalent Service Leave Credits that will allow the awardee to spend quality time with his family,” said Madrid.

Cascolan last month took over the post as NCRPO chief and promised to intensify campaign against criminality and continue the internal cleansing initiated by his predecessor and now PNP director Oscar Albayalde.

Cascolan, the 41st NCRPO regional director, is a member of the Philippine Military Academy “Sinagtala” Class of 1986 where Albayalde is also a member.
