CHINA’s biggest real estate developer will build a multi-billion dollar integrated leisure and entertainment resort at the country’s entertainment city of Parañaque that would cater to Filipino and foreign visitors.

The Landing International Development Limited said Thursday it had received approval from the Parañaque City Council to develop and operate an integrated resort in the Philippines after leasing 9.5 hectares of land earlier this month.

The Hong Kong-based company said that Parañaque City Council had passed a resolution approving and granting the request of Landing Resorts Philippines Development Corp. to operate a resort in the Entertainment City in Barangay Tambo, Parañaque.

The Chinese company  said that the integrated resort would include a Filipino culture theme park, an indoor waterpark, an indoor movie-based theme park, a convention center, hotels, a retail mall and other commercial and entertainment facilities.

The Landing International, which owns and operates Korea’s Jeju Shinhwa World, did not  mention if a casino would be built but the company described the proposed facility as a leisure and theme park.

Landing International Development’s chairman and executive director, Dr. Yang Zhihui has met with President Rodrigo Duterte and discussed the proposed multi-billion project that would create hundreds of jobs in the country.

“Following our first meeting with the President in May 2017 in Hong Kong to discuss investment opportunities in the Philippines, we are honored to share with President Duterte and his Cabinet team our vision for tourism in the country and our proposal to build an iconic international branded theme park integrated resort in the Philippines that all Filipinos will be proud of,” Dr. Yang said in a statement.

“This resort will comprise Asia’s first movie-themed indoor theme park, waterpark as well as many other leisure and entertainment facilities suited for all ages and families. When opened, the branded theme park integrated resort will enhance Philippines’ tourism appeal, complement the existing tourists’ attractions and resorts as well as create significant employment opportunities for the locals as well as returning Filipinos who are currently working overseas,” he said.
