IACT to impose no parking zone rule

The Inter-Agency Council for Traffic will impose a no parking zone and any kind of road obstructions on the entire stretch of Roxas Boulevard to ease vehicular traffic in the area.

“We want all highly congested roads in the metro to be obstruction-free to ensure smooth traffic flow,” said I-ACT chief Thomas Orbos.

Orbos said that personnel from member-agencies such as Metro Manila Development Authority, Land Transportation Office, Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board, Police-Highway Patrol Group, and the local governments of cities of Parañaque, Pasay and Manila will work together to ensure that obstructions in Roxas Boulevard will all be removed.

He said business owners, vendors and owners of illegally parked vehicles in the area will also be advised to voluntarily dismantle their stalls and clear the roads.

“We appeal to everybody to voluntarily clear the area just like what the others did in Baclaran. We have to work together and cooperate for the greater good of all. Through the people’s cooperation, significant change will be made,” said Orbos.
