The Department of Justice has been asked to prosecute two policemen arrested last Tuesday for alleged extortion of bus and van drivers in an illegal terminal in Pasay City.
Police Officer 2 Jerry Jubail and Police Officer 1 Michael Domalanta, both of Malibay Police Community Precinct, were brought to the DoJ for inquest proceedings.
The two policemen were charged with robbery-extortion under Article 294 of the Revised Penal Code by arresting officers from the Philippine National Police-Counter-intelligence Task Force.
In the complaint, the CITF said Jubail and Domalanta were caught receiving marked money in an entrapment operation.
The CITF conducted the operation after receiving a complaint that accused Jubail and Domalanta of extorting from P300 to P500 from van and bus drivers in exchange for allowing them to take passengers at illegal terminals in the area.
