“Isabela hopes that Governor Marcos will ‘go’ for a Senate seat,” he said.

The Ilocos Norte governor is still undecided on joining the senatorial race.

Speaking at the Farmers Congress in Aurora, Isabela, Dy said “we do not have a voice in the Senate, a voice of the Ilocanos. We hope our beloved [Ilocos Norte] governor will decide to run so our voice could be heard, and to improve our lives.”

Echague Mayor Francis Faustino “Kiko” Dy stated, “we will always support you wherever your political career may lead you.”

Meanwhile, Marcos wants an exchange of training program for tobacco growers between her province and Isabela.

In her recent visit to Isabela’s Cauayan City and other nearby towns, she cited the importance of export quality products and an exchange training program for tobacco growers of the two provinces.

“We hope to have an exchange training wherein Ilocano farmers could come here to Isabela and administer training to your farmers, specifically on how to grow and produce quality Virginia tobacco,” Marcos said.

“In return, we ask the province of Isabela to teach us how to grow different crops, including Burley tobacco,” she added.

The Isabela governor attributed the province being no.1 in the agriculture sector to the Marcos family.
