“‹Kevin “The Silencer” Belingon put on a show of a lifetime in front of a jam-packed Mall of Asia Arena as he pulverized Andrew Leone on his way to a brutal stoppage at the 3:33 mark of the second round, earning him the victory at the ONE: Heroes of Honor last April 20.
Right from the start, the 30-year-old wushu national champion dominated the American fighter, controlling every facet of the fight, while defending on the take down attempt of Leone.
Belingon showed his striking power as he stunned his opponent, who sustained a nasty cut to the left eyem causing a brief stoppage in the first round.
Belingon sustained his relentless attacks in the second, connecting with a spinning back kick that put Leone flying on the corner, before “The Silencer” put his ground and pound game and finished the fight via a TKO.
With the win, Belingon improved his record to 18-5 win-loss card, including this fifth straight win. The Team Lakay standout is now inching closer to a rematch with long-time bantamweight champ Bibiano Fernandez.
While Leone fell to 8-4 after the loss.
In the co-main event, kickboxing superstar Girgio Petrosyan (96-2) showed the world why he is one of the greatest fighters in the world with a complete supremacy show against Jo Nattawut (66-7-2).
Petrosyan put on a kickboxing clinic as he landed perfectly placed combinations against his outclassed Thai rival to record a unanimous decision win.
Honorio Banario nipped Australian veteran Adrian Pang with a controversial split decision triumph.
The pride of Team Lakay collected his fifth straight victory while Pang suffered his fourth straight loss dating back to October 2015.
In other bouts, former champion Marat Gafurov (16-1) bounced back from his first defeat as he put Emilio Urrutia (11-5) to sleep with an arm-triangle choke at the 2:34 mark of Round 1.
Dan Hwan Kim outpointed his Japanese counterpart Masakazu Imarmbari.
Filipina Gina Iniong impressed the crowd with her masterful skills against Jenny Huang in the preliminary bout.
Coming off a disappointing loss to Mae Yamaguchi, Iniong returned to her winning ways after scoring a unanimous victory against the former title contender.
