Marikina police raid shabu lab owned by Chinese national

As if to welcome its new PNP chief, Police Director General Oscar Albayalde, the Marikina Police scored a big hit against illegal drug peddlers and drug manufacturers in the country.

Marikina police chief Police Senior Superintendent Roger Quezada said that his men raided a suspected shabu laboratory in a home in Saint Mary Subdivision in Barangay Nangka through a tip from a concerned citizen last week.

Quezada said the laboratory is owned by the same Chinese national suspected of operating an ecstasy lab in Malabon.

Quezada said the house reportedly belongs to “John Ming Shen,” who was arrested in Malabon City last week when the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency raided the suspected ecstasy lab.

The PDEA earlier referred to the Chinese national as “Jiang Minshan” of Fujian, China, an alleged member of the Dragon Wu International Drug Syndicate operating in Asia.

Quezada said that the police team secured a warrant and raided the house on Friday, April 20 and subsequently found equipment and chemicals used in manufacturing shabu.

Others who were at home at the time of the raid were the suspect’s wife, Lulu Wong, their grandmother Zheng Chonglo, and helpers Eva Piyang and Maria Christine Baquiller Locsin.

The Marikina police chief said that they are conducting an inventory of the evidence collected following the raid.
