MAJORITY of employers in the country prefer to hire graduates from the state-run Polytechnic University of the Philippines, a survey by recruitment portal Jobstreet.com showed.
“The report pointed out that employers believe in the school’s reputation of producing quality graduates,” Jobstreet.com Philippines country manager Philip Gioca said.
The survey showed employers appreciated the “positive work ethic” of PUP employees.
The University of the Philippines placed second, followed by Ateneo de Manila University, University of Santo Tomas, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, Far Eastern University, De La Salle University, Technological Institute of the Philippines, University of San Carlos, University of Cebu and University of the East.
Broken down into industries, those from the business process outsourcing preferred graduates from PUP, UP and UST while the information technology sector’s top school choices were DLSU and PUP.
