UNIVERSITY of Santo Tomas and defending champion De La Salle clash for all the marbles today in the UAAP Season 80 women’s football crown today at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.

Kick-off is at 4 p.m.

Also on tap in the resumption of football action are the men’s matches between early semifinalist University of the Philippines and last-place Adamson University at 2 p.m., and the 10 a.m. clash between titleholder Ateneo and University of the East.

The Finals’ rematch was made possible after the Tigresses topped the double-round eliminations with 19 points, while the Lady Archers wound up second in the table with 16.

Gunning for a third championship overall, UST hopes to avenge its 0-3 loss to De La Salle in the title match last season, as it has a deep offensive arsenal to boast with.

Charise Lemoran and Shelah Cadag scored seven and six goals, respectively, while Mary Joy Indac and Hazel Lustan have combined for seven for the Tigresses.

Shannon Arthur, who scored four goals in the tournament, will banner the Lady Archers, who are hoping to avenge their two defeats to the España-based side.

De La Salle is also eyeing to tie Far Eastern University (10) as the winningest program in the league.

With 25 points in second place, the Blue Eagles hope to join the Fighting Maroons in the Final Four against the Red Warriors, who are trying to keep their semis hopes alive.

Currently tied with idle National University at 13 points, UE is three off fourth-running De La Salle, which has 16.
