THE Nazareth School-National University Bullpups relied on a decisive breakaway in the fourth period and turned back the Jose Rizal University Light Bombers, 102-93, recently at the Buddhacare Gym in Quezon City.
Big efforts from Kevin Quiambao and Carl Tamayo at the start of the last quarter allowed the Bullpups to claim the under-19 crown of the 2018 Milcu Sports Basketball, presented by Got Skills Premier League Hard to Guard tournament.
Quiambao and Tamayo had 11 and 14 points, respectively, and led a 7-0 breakaway with baskets in the last 9:05, allowing the Bullpups to add to their title haul.
Cyril Gonzales showed the way with 28 points for the Bullpups, who earlier won the 2018 National Basketball Training Center title.
Reyland Torres banged in 17 points, and Gerry Abadiano shot 16 for the Bullpups, who were up by nine, 84-75.

Niko Tan tallied 20 points, with a jump shot in the last six seconds sending Xavier School-Makati to a 76-75 triumph over Makati East in the under-12 finals.
Peco Napenas knocked in 41 points for Xavier School in its 79-76 beating of Filipinas Basketball Academy, and this earned them the under-13 honors.
