No to Junk Food

The Quezon City Government has approved Ordinance No. SP-2579 or the ’Anti-Junk Food and Sugary Drinks’ which reflects the city’s proactive commitment in its  partnership for Healthy Cities global network. The ordinance bans junk food and sugary drinks inside and within 100-meter perimeter in public and private schools. Officials of the World Health Organization, the Department of Health, Department of Education led by (from left), Dr. Ariel Valencia DoH, QC Councilor Irene Belmonte, Dr. Quintana of WHO, City Administrator Aldrin Cuna, Ramya Kancharla project officer City health, Helena Flora DepEd and Dr. Verdades Linga City Health link arms to signify their support to the ordinance.
