Councilor Roderick Paulate of District 2 will run for vice mayor of Quezon City in the 2019 local elections.
City hall sources told Manila Standard Paulate will join the vice mayoralty race against two other last-term lawmakers—District 3 Councilor Gian Carlo Sotto, son of Senator Vicente “Tito” Sotto, and District 2 Rep. Winston “Winnie” Castelo.

Castelo is the husband of three-term District 2 Councilor Precious Hipolito Castelo, who is a former broadcast journalist and former child actor like Paulate.
A ranking official from Paulate’s office told the Standard that after his third term, Paulate is “definite” in his decision to seek a higher post.
