Anti-drug dragnet kills 10 in Cotabato, 32 arrested

AT least 10 alleged illegal drug personalities were killed and 32 were arrested in a province-wide, two-day operation in Cotabato City.

The operation was conducted in various municipalities in Cotabato last Friday and Saturday, according to the Cotabato Police Provincial Office.

The report said that in Tulunan municipality alone, eight were killed—with four killed on Friday four more on Saturday.

The other two were killed in Barangay Plang in the municipality of Kabacan.

The report said the suspects attempted to fight it out with the police.

In Tulunan, police recovered from the slain suspects a .38 cal. revolver, a .45 cal. pistol, a homemade pistol, three hand grenades, and at least 10 sachets of methamphetamine hydrochloride or “shabu.”

In Kabacan, Chief Inspector Ronnie Cordero, Kabacan Police chief, reported that they recovered from one of the slain suspect's hideout a pistol, .38 cal.revolver, and several sachets of shabu.

The Kidapawan City Police also arrested on Friday one Quincy Glen Villanueva Adlaon, 25, for alleged drug trafficking, aside from doing cybersex inside his hideout in Barangay Lanao.

Another suspect, identified as Maribeth Montejo Parba, 41, from Barangay Lanao, was also among those arrested in  Kidapawan City.

In Makilala town, the police arrested two employees of a banana processing company in a surprise raid on Friday. They were identified them as Marvin Chatto Tigao, 24, and Sherwin Grabe, 37. Seized from the suspects were seven sachets of shabu.

The police also arrested five more suspected drug personalities from the towns in Midsayap, Antipas, President Roxas and Arakan during the two-day anti-drug operation.

Other most wanted persons arrested since Friday were involved in illegal possession of firearms, illegal gambling, homicide, frustrated homicide, attempted homicide, physical injuries, rape, and violation of Anti-Violence Against Women and Children.
