Instead of doing what every other person does on Valentine’s Day, doctor-to-the-stars Vicki Belo and matinee idol Alden Richards tweaked their Day of Hearts celebrations a bit by deciding to spend time with children afflicted with cancer and their families to spread cheers, joy and love to them.
The celebrity doctor, accompanied by Alden, surprised at least 70 children at the Philippine Children’s Medical Center (PCMC) in Quezon City with food, toys, hygiene kits, coloring books, pillows, and other learning materials. The duo visited the Children’s Cancer Ward, went from room to room checking up on the kids and their parents.
The Children’s Cancer Ward was actually donated by Dr. Belo, in the name of her parents, Ike and Nena Belo. During the occasion, she also gave a 40-ich TV set for the patients, their families and the health workers at the Hematology Ward. It came with a DigiBox for their enjoyment.
You see, Dr. Belo understands that every bit of entertainment the patients and their families can have is much valued as they battle life and death situations daily in this hospital. At one point, Dr. Belo and Alden became emotional after talking to Andre, a boy in very critical condition. The two offered prayers for Andre and his parents.
The two celebrities were also touched after talking to a number of kids who shared with them their dreams and ambitions. Adrien, 9, diagnosed with leukemia, told them he wants to be a singer. He even sang a few lines for the two. Zamzam, a shy 10-year old also afflicted with leukemia, wants to become a doctor to help cure the sick.
Dr. Belo shared on her Instagram account how she felt after visiting the kids. “It was indeed, a Valentine’s Day well spent. I always believed that time is the greatest gift a person can give and I ‘m so honored that these kids gave me a few hours of their precious time. Thank you, thank you. You‘ve really touched my heart. Thank you as well to Alden for cheering the kids at the PCMC. It meant a lot to them.”

John Estrada’s character, Anthony, in the highly rated late night soap opera, The Good Son, has died, the second victim after Victor’s (Albert murder of the Victor Buenavidez.
So, the drama has a new twist and the focus now is on who killed Anthony.
But, behind the on-screen drama was an off-screen skirmish between John and co-star Mylene Dizon. According to insiders the two had a shouting match during one of the taping sessions for the series constraining John to stop reporting to the set and obliging the writers of the series to change the plotline, thus the sudden death of Anthony. I don’t have the details of the conflict between John and Mylene, but
the clash was reportedly witnessed by their co-stars, particularly Joshua Garcia and McCoy de Leon who appeared stultified after the incident.
According to reliable sources, John has also made a commitment to another production, not in his home network, that cast him along with a rival network’s popular matinee idol. And many observers say that had made John rather uneasy in the last days he was reporting for taping for the Kapamilya series.
The guys over at Kapamilya appeared unruffled with John’s sudden disappearance from the show. It has added another Kapamilya star to bolster its cast – Joem Bascon who plays a policeman now in charge of the investigation of Anthony’s murder.

Discover the dark side of Los Angeles where cops and robbers go head-to-head in Gerard Butler’s latest action thriller movie, Den Of Thieves.
Set in contemporary Los Angeles, Den Of Thieves is a crime saga which follows the intersecting and often personally connected lives of the Regulators, an elite unit of the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department; and the Outlaws, the state’s most successful bank robbery crew.
The Regulators is led by alpha dog “Big Nick” O’Brien played by Butler. He’s a hard-drinking career detective who will stop at nothing to put an end to the Outlaws’ crime spree. The Outlaws is led by the icy and calm Ray Merriman (Pablo Schreiber). The Outlaws operate with military precision, meticulous planning, and employ subject matter expertise – all skills acquired from military special ops service and prison stints.
Den Of Thieves is written and directed by Christian Gudegast, the brilliant writer of the worldwide smash hit London Has Fallen. He was reading Where the Money Is, a nonfiction book about how Los Angeles became the bank robbery capital of the world, when he saw a photo in the Los Angeles Times; the photo, taken at the Federal Reserve Bank, was of a massive tub of money. The photo and the book sparked an idea, and Gudegast wrote the story that would eventually become the basis for the screenplay.
The film also stars Evan Jones, O’Shea Jackson Jr., and Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson.
Catch the high-octane grand heist thriller action of Den Of Thieves in cinemas nationwide tomorrow. Presented by VIVA International Pictures and MVP Entertainment.
