A CLASSIC series between the Senate Defenders and the Malacañang-PSC Kamao is expected in this season’s championship round of the UNTV Cup at the Pasig City Sports Center.
Game time is 4:30 p.m.
The champion gets P4.5 million, with P4,000,000 going to its chosen charity, while the runner-up receives P2.3 million, P2 million of which goes to its beneficiary.
Meanwhile, the Armed Forces of the Philippines Cavaliers and the National Housing Authority Builders clash at 3 p.m. in the knockout battle for third place, with the winner receiving P1.2m, P1,000,000 of which will be donated to its chosen charity plus.
The fourth placer gets P600,000, with P500,000 to be given to its beneficiary.
The former two-time champion AFP Cavaliers has again chosen as their beneficiary the AFP Educational Benefit System Office or the scholarship program for the children of the men in uniform.
On the other hand, the NHA Builders has named as its beneficiary the NHA Provident Fund Association, Inc., which aids the dependents of the deceased employees of the bureau.
The basketball tournament for charity and camaraderie, which was conceptualized by public service advocate Dr. Daniel Razon and supported by Bro. Eli Soriano of MCGI, will give a total of P9.6 M, tax free to the teams. The 10 non-winning teams will also receive P100,000 each for donation to their beneficiaries.
