The alleged regional finance officer of the Communist Party of the Philippines – New People's Army (CPP-NPA) is now under the custody of the Philippine National Police – Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) in Caraga.
This comes after she was arrested in a joint military and police operation last Thursday.
Nabbed was Leonida Guao, who is reportedly the finance officer of the communist organization in Caraga region and Mindanao.
She was arrested in Barangay Bading, Butuan City by operatives of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) 402nd Brigade, 401st Brigade, PNP-CIDG and the PNP Regional Office in Region 13 (PRO-13).
Civil-Military Operations Officer Captain Al Anthony Pueblas says, Guao is the one who consolidates the extortion money collected by the CPP/NPA in Caraga.
She is also allegedly in charge of the distribution of the funds.
