The forensic team of the Public Attorney's Office (PAO) has exhumed the body of a boy suspected to have died after getting shots of Dengvaxia vaccine.
The corpse of 11-year-old boy John Paul Rafael was dug from his grave in Bagac, Bataan.
The group of PAO Forensic Consultant Dr. Erwin Erfe took tissue samples from John Paul's remains.
The samples will be brought to a laboratory for examination.
PAO experts want to find out if John Paul suffered from massive internal bleeding before he died.
They are also checking if the boy's organs were swelling.
These are supposedly the symptoms seen in other children who received shots of Dengvaxia.
Erfe says blood stains on the boy's hair may also provide them a lead.
John Paul died in April 2016.
This was just a few days after he was given Dengvaxia vaccine.
Prior to his passing, John Paul had complained of stomach pains and he became very weak.
Doctors at that time said congenital heart ailment could have caused his death.
