Philab Holdings Corp. said subsidiary Philab Industries Inc. formed a highly strategic partnership with multinational company Industria Macchine Automatiche S.p.A to distribute high-powered automated machineries for the processing and packaging of pharmaceutical products, such as medicines and food supplements.
IMA, a globally known Italian based multinational company, designs and manufactures automated machineries from processing, primary and secondary packaging until the end of line of pharmaceutical products.
Philab is the exclusive distributor of IMA pharma machines which already sold several units to Pascual Labs and Amherst Laboratories Inc. since the partnership started. It acquired the license to distribute IMA Group’s pharma equipment which completes Philab Industries’ healthcare line.
Philab said the partnership was set to impact the Philippine pharma industry in more ways than one. “It is important for our big pharma companies to use high technology equipment in producing large quantity of quality and consistent tablets and capsules to offer the Philippine market. This is where the expertise of IMA comes in with more than 50 years of reputation in the global pharma industry. Philab pursued this partnership to successfully satisfy the rising demands of the pharma industry,” said Paolo Cagalingan, executive vice president of sales and business development.
