Fire hits QC residence of music icon Aguilar

A 22-minute fire hit the house of musician Freddie Aguilar in Barangay North Fairview in Quezon City late Tuesday night.

Damage to properties was estimated at P13 million to P15 million.

Eight people from the family household, including Aguilar’s wife, were reported safe and unharmed.

According to fire probers, the household members were all asleep when the fire broke out at 11:06 p.m.

Aguilar was reportedly at his bar in Timog Ave. when the fire broke out.

His pregnant wife, Jovie, who was on the second floor, jumped on the rooftop of a neighbor’s house.

The fire was put out at 11:38 p.m.

All of Aguilar’s prized possessions, such as records of his music and awards, musical instruments and antique collections, went into flame.

Aguilar was only able to save a guitar.

The fire started from Aguilar’s music room on the ground floor at about 11:06 p.m. on Tuesday.
