Weather bureau PAGASA reports tropical storm Agaton has intensifed.

As of 10 am on Wednesday, Agaton is packing maximum sustained winds of up to 65 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of 80 kph.

It is forecast to move west at 25 kph.

Agaton's current location is 390 kilometers west northwest of Puerto Princesa City in Palawan.

Despite this development, PAGASA is not raising any tropical storm warning signal.

This is because the weather disturbance is set to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) at noon today.

By Thursday morning, Agaton is expected to be 470 kilometers west northwest of Pagasa Island in Palawan.

Meanwhile, authorities are warning that sea travel is still risky in the seaboards of Northern Luzon, Southern Luzon, Central Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

This is due to the surge of the northeast monsoon.

Moderate to heavy rainfall is predicted over Bicol region, Rizal, Aurora and Quezon.

The rains are brought by the tail-end of a cold front.
