Starting Jan. 3, 2018, the Bureau of Immigration will restore the express lane fee for all visa extension, documentation, registration and other travel transactions at the agency.
The ELF was removed after President Rodrigo Duterte vetoed the use of express lane funds for the overtime pay of immigration personnel.

Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente assured that all transactions at the bureau will be expedited and would stop corruption with the restoration of ELF.
He said the President has allowed the use of income from ELF starting January next year.
The BI chief expressed gratitude to Duterte, saying that the President displayed “sincere concern” for the plight of BI employee.
