Navotas residents urged to vote on Jan. 5 plebiscite

Navotas City Mayor John Rey Tiangco encouraged residents of three barangays—North Bay Boulevard South, Tangos and Tanza—to participate in a plebiscite on Jan. 5 to decide on a proposal to create four more barangays.

Under Republic Act 10933, the plan is to divide Barangay NBBS into Barangays NBBS Proper, NBBS Kaunlaran and NBBS Dagatan.

Barangay Tangos will be divided into Barangays Tangos North and Tangos South while Barangay Tanza will be split into Barangays Tanza 1 and Tanza 2.

In the creation of new barangays, the service will be delivered faster to the people, Tiangco said.

The plebiscite will be conducted at the NBBS Elementary School, Neighborhood Elementary School, Dagupan Elementary School, Tangos Elementary School-Mother and Annex, and Tanza Elementary School.

The voting will start at 7 a.m. and will last until 3 p.m.

The Commission on Elections will enforce a gun ban during the plebiscite.`
