LEYTE Rep. Yedda Marie Romualdez on Sunday urged millions of Filipinos to be kind to the environment in welcoming the New Year by ensuring proper garbage disposal.
“Let us reduce the environmental concerns that would greet the new year. Let us ensure the proper disposal of garbage that is now starting to pile up,” she said.

“As we celebrate New Year, let us also remember environmental considerations from the expected huge garbage that will pile-up. The people should help maintain cleanliness,” she added.
She appealed to concerned authorities to come up with contingency measures to avoiding piles of uncollected garbage.
The Leyte lawmaker said proper garbage disposal would ensure that trash does not end up in the drainage system and inlets.
