THE Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and the Philippine-Chinese Charitable Association Inc. have signed anew a memorandum of agreement for the extension of comprehensive medical assistance to PDEA agents.

Under the arrangement, all PDEA agents can avail themselves of medical treatment from PCCAI if injured in the line of duty.  The MoA has also been expanded to cover all 1,251 PDEA agents nationwide.

PDEA chief Aaron Aquino said the agreement has sealed the partnership between PDEA and PCCAI, and renewed the partnership covering the medical aid and treatment of PDEA personnel nationwide who sustained injuries during actual performance of duties, including surgery and major operations as well as the use of its medical equipment and facilities from admission to release.

Aquino extended the agency’s deep appreciation to the medical support provided by PCCAI to boost the morale of PDEA agents who, during actual anti-drug operations commit their lives to serve the country and people.
