Tropical storm Urduja has made landfall in Taytay, Palawan at 8 am today.
PAGASA reports, the current location of the weather disturbance is 90 kilometers north northwest of Puerto Princesa City.
It is packing maximum sustained winds of up to 45 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 60 kph.
Urduja is moving west at 18 kph.
PAGASA says, the storm has weakened following the landfall.
It is expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) tomorrow morning.
Tropical storm signal number 1 is still up in Palawan.
Weather forecasters say, landslides and flooding can still occur.
Meanwhile, the tropical depression PAGASA has been monitoring outside PAR, has become a Low Pressure Area (LPA).
As a result, forecasters say, this weather system does not pose any threat at this time.
The rains being experienced in Metro Manila and nearby provinces are attributed to trade winds or 'amihan' enhanced by Urduja.
