Commissioner Isidro Lapeña said the confiscated shipments include various fake G-shock watches, shoes, rice, used clothing, two heavy equipment, and other general merchandise.

The shipments which came from China were consigned to ACC Trading, Alcambaras Trading Corp., Melwinjay Trading and Pricewater Trading.

Lapeña said the fake Casio G-shock watches and fake shoes were seized by customs agents which were declared as handicraft paper decoration.

“The used clothing, the two heavy equipment  and rice were declared as bed linens, spare parts and resins, respectively,” Lapeña said.

The customs chief said the consignees violated the customs law, Intellectual Property Law, and Republic Act (RA) 4653 which prohibits the importation of used clothing.

“The bureau will file charges against the consignees,” POM Collector lawyer Ernelito Aquino said.

Commissioner Lapeña lauded the efforts of Aquino and x-ray inspection project head Zsae Carrie de Guzman for the successful apprehension of the foiled smuggling try by the importers.
