New shows and specials on History

History is closing the year with two new epic series that are sure to keep you glued to the television, plus not-to-be-missed specials and the best episodes of your favorite shows. This month on HISTORY is the gift that keeps on giving. 

Start December by tuning into the premiere of Knightfall  at 9:55 p.m. tomorrow. Follow the Knights Templar—the elite warriors of the Crusade and the most powerful, wealthy and mysterious military order of the Middle Ages—on their mission to find the lost Cup of Christ. The knights struggle with belief, sacrifice, politics, love, revenge, and eventually, the demise of the Order.

Continue the journey on Dec. 9, 9:55 p.m. with Pirate Treasure of The Knights Templar. Join underwater archeologist and adventurer, Barry Clifford, and his team as they dive into a worldwide investigation to find a link between 17th century pirates and the Knights Templar. 

On Dec. 22 at 9 p.m., the History Friday Feature: Untold Story of the 90s offers a look into how the events at the end of last century shaped the world we live in today.  

Of course, it won’t be December without Christmas Time on History. Catch The Jesus Code on Dec. 24 at 5:20 p.m., as the show investigates the incredible legend of the True Cross, the actual cross Jesus died on and considered the greatest relic in Christianity. Have Yourself A Merry Pickers Christmas as The Pickers have their special holiday episode on Dec. 25 at 8:05 p.m. with Mike trying to get Frank into the Christmas spirit while exploring two super packed picks.

Continuing on Dec. 25 at 9 p.m., watch The Pope From The End Of The World, the story of Pope Francis, the Argentinean Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio who broke the hegemony of centuries of European Popes, and the first Jesuit Pope.  As the leader of the Church which has lost many worshippers and embroiled in scandal – what is he like?

Following that, from Dec. 26 to 31, from 6:15 p.m., catch the “Best Of” of your favorite shows—Counting Cars and Pawn Stars; and The Pickers to recap the most exciting episodes of the latest seasons.
