President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has issued an order that effectively integrates the functions of the Edsa People Power Commission with the National Historical Commission of the Philippines.

Through Executive Order No. 47, the NHCP will assume the management of the People Power Monument, ensuring its continued maintenance and upkeep. The planning, organizing and implementation of activities to commemorate the 1986 Edsa Revolution remain with the EPPC.
The President also appointed the NHCP Chairman to concurrently serve as ex-officio Chairman of the EPPC, and will appoint four other members for the Edsa Commission from the private sector, choosing from among its members the vice chairman of the EPPC.
