Phase out of old jeeps set in January

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) is phasing out public utility jeepneys (PUVs) in January next year.

The information came from DOTr Undersecretary Tim Orbos.

He said the schedule follows the modernization program of President Rodrigo Duterte for public transportation.

PUVs will go through motor vehicle inspection for this purpose.

Nearly 200,000 old jeepneys will be affected by this development.
