The first Kohler Bold Design Awards (KBDA) was launched recently in Manila to showcase emerging designers of bath and kitchen products, furniture sets and accessories, power systems and engines, and other household necessities.
The KBDA is currently accepting entries until November 19, and hopes to discover new talents in the realm of property design and innovation.
The competition is open for all designers, hotel operators, architects, and even hospital and residential development property professionals. The award categories include: The Boldest – under this category, Living, Travel, Leisure, and Culture; and The Visionaries – under this are Influencers, Prodigies, and Icons. Announcement of nominees will be on the 28th of November.
Judges for the competition include Kenneth Cobonpue, founder of Kenneth Cobonpue (Philippines); Carmelo Casas, president and CEO of Casas Architectures (Philippines); Simon Rawlings, creative director of David Collins Studio (UK); William Lim, founder of CL3 (Hong Kong); Antonio “Budji” Layug, chairman of BUDJI + ROYAL Architecture + Design (Philippines); Royal Pineda, CEO and principal architect of BUDJI + ROYAL Architecture + Design; and Bill Bensley, creative director of Bensley Studios (Thailand & Indonesia).
