Christian leaders called on President Rodrigo Duterte to honor his commitment to uphold God’s agenda for the country even as they reminded the faithful especially those in positions of influence to stand on the tenets of the Christian faith.
Leaders of Philippines for Jesus Movement and the Philippine Council of Evangelical Churches, two of the largest non-Catholic organizations in the country, issued the call at the 39th anniversary of Jesus is Lord Church held in Quirino Grandstand, Luneta Park, Manila, on Friday.
This developed as Christian leaders expressed grave concern over the continued drug-related extrajudicial killings and the alleged involvement of high-ranking officials in trafficking of illegal drugs.
