The Office of the Ombudsman has dismissed from service Iloilo City Mayor Jed Mabilog.
The order comes after government prosecutors determined that there exists a prima facie evidence that the mayor has an unexplained wealth worth P 8.9 million.

In 2012, Mabilog's Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth (SALN) stated that he had assets and properties worth more than P 59 million.
In 2013, his SALN registered assets and properties worth over P 68 million.
The Ombudsman ruled Mabilog failed to explain how he was able to acquire properties and funds that are out of proportion to his income.
Mabilog had claimed that he gained some wealth from his wife's job as Comptroller in Canada.
