Shopkeeper linked to Maute terrorists arrested

A shopkeeper with alleged ties to Maute terrorists has been arrested in Quezon City.

This was in a raid conducted by operatives of the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) in the suspect's home.

Nabbed was Rasdy Malawani, shopkeeper of Salaam Bazaar located in a mall in Novaliches.

Malawani was reportedly collecting money from other stall owners and the fund is being allegedly remitted to Farhana Maute, the mother of the Maute terrorist leaders.

Quezon City Police Director Chief Superintendent Guillermo Eleazar describes Malawani as a sympathizer of the terrorists who invaded Marawi City.
