Blade forays into movie making

Blade, the country’s largest automotive accessories lifestyle store is set to raise the bar and set new standards in the retail industry by way of a movie. Based on a real life love story, Blade’s Timog Love Story movie revolves around a woman named Nelia (played by Michelle Vito) who works as a saleswoman at Blade. The lead character then falls in love with Delfin, a mechanic, whose character is played by Jon Lucas. 

The movie promises mixed emotions which is Tuwa, Luha and Saya, “This movie could also mean true love story depending on how the audience would interpret once they’ve already seen the film,” explains Albert Go, marketing manager of Blade Autocenter. Blade aims to reach a broader spectrum of the market with this feel good movie and promises an enjoyable experience. In a private screening hosted by Robertson Sy, President and CEO of Blade Autocenter at the SQ Film Lab in Mandaluyong city, the movie made this writer rekindle his courtship and how emotionally uplifting it is to experience young love. It is a movie set in Seventies, and the scenes would revolve around flashbacks of the young couple, and the present time where the “older” Nelia eventually reunites with Delfin at the end of the movie. It is a roller coaster of emotions but in the end true love prevails.

 “This would be the same experience we’ve managed to provide our clients once they shop at Blade. The movie also has veteran actors and actresses led by Boots Anson-Roa, Freddie Webb and Rey “PJ” Abellana with the special participation of James Deakin in a cameo role. The movie is directed by Roderick Lindayag. 

You will know that this is a car guy movie because aside from the veteran actors and actresses, the cars are the stars. The cars of Aftermarket personality Sam Liuson are prominent in the movie such as his Evolution Pajero and customized Toyota FJ Cruiser, as well as “old school” cars provided by Manny Martinez. “It’s a movie for car enthusiasts and romantics who believe in true love,” says Tan, who also has a cameo role in the movie as the Blade store manager. 

With over 50 stores nationwide strategically located in SM, Robinsons and Ayala Malls, Blade is recognized as the country’s largest automotive accessories and parts retail chain.
